well as you lot know iv been 'playing' with my engine

i was to test to see if it runs am i right in saying

all i need is the coil and starter wires attached? just to fire it up for a about 10seconds?

or are there some more sensors and switches i need to plug in ?

it says NOVA 1300 1983 TO 1985 :oops:

mine 1989, would this still work? what about if i just change the module over?

yes dizzy will work and ignition and starter should be all you need to start it aswell mate

In the haynes manual it gives a different delco number dizzy to the one you bought

not mine, got it for my dad :) got my own its in the shop, so's my bloody welder it blew up :evil:

ok the haynes ses 7. if there is no spark at the plug leads, take off the HT lead from the centre of the distributor cap and hole it to the block as before. spin the engine on the starter once more. a rapid succession of blue sparks between the end of the lead and the block indicatesthat the coil is in order and that the distributor cap is cracked, the rotor arm is faulty or the carbon brush in the top of the distributor cap is not making good contact with the rotor arm.

but as Long Live said it gives a different delco number dizzy than what i have :?

i cant see that it matters as long as it fits. silly question i know but you have checked its got a rotor arm havn't you
