View Full Version : Taking Seats out?

Hiya,

I have a 3 door Nova which has been parked on my drive since November  due to changing the front end to MkII - anyhow, the passenger seat has gone mouldy!!!!
So, is it an easy job to get the seats out to clean them in the house rather than struggle with them in the car? Or shall I just leave them where they are? Another reason I want to take them out - the drivers seat doesn't seem to 'slide' backwards and forwards properly :x so I thought I could fix that too.

Thanking you all :D

Nicola

you have 2 or maybe 4 13mm bolts depending which model it is at the front on the floor hold the seat in. Take them out it just slides out.

Ok Thanks Phil :) Will see if I can find a spanner of that size. Moles are harder to come by where I live :P

Well I've just been out with the spanners and I can't find where the hell the nuts are :o :? I can see the runner things and a nut where the seatbelt thing goes in - but I don't think thats it. Where abouts is it? Should I have the seats tilted forward, is it at the front of the runner or the back?

Sorry

The bolts should be located under the carpet at the front of the seat.

There should be a loose flap of carpet under the seat. If you carefully fold it forward you should be able to see the bolts.

Then once the bolts are out its just a case of sliding the seats backwards off the runners. Sometimes they can be a little hard to get out the runners. Also they're quite heavy so be prepared.
