Well after another weekend of hard graft the nova is coming along nicely, it is looking a lot more promising to be ready to go to Belgium/Germany in April now. All the welding is now complete inside, just got the sound deadening to remove from teh roof and some filling to do were unused items have been removed (rear seat mounts etc). The holes are in place for the cage now, front bumper got painted during the week by one of my mates, and the engien bay has all been seam sealed and painted now. I really like the colour, I was a bit unsure before but love it to bits now. Hopefully it should be done in the next month. It will all be painted next weekend and start getting rebuilt. Here is some piccy's for you all to see how she is coming on.....

yes scott I am keeping the battery where it is for the moment, but later on I will be re-locating it, to try and even out the weight distribution. I am also looking into having a fuel cell made up for the back end. But all this will wait until after the Belgium/Germany trip, the car needs to be ready for it lol

Where the firewall (?) was cut off (you know the bot the wiper motor attches to), did you re weld the join so it sat flush or just grind it down?

I'm doing this atm and some peopel say grind and paint, where as others believe the join should be welded over.

Any tips? Thanks.

A few people on here have done this mod and some have cut it down, welded and then folded over. I did this but couldnt see why it should be left so I cut the rest off, then it was welded over all the way, ground down slightly to clean it up and run over with seam sealer. It isnt the tidiest job but that not what I am after, it will look fine with some rubber strip over it.

If you look on the bulk head there is a bracket that is not standard. I got the method from Bruce, it is a Mk4 Fiesta wiper motor mounting bracket, if you remove the plate from the standard nova one then it bolts straight up, it will need the linkage modifying though. Pretty straight forward though.

Looks good chris, but what paint were the sprayers using? Do they not care for their lungs? No masks or anything :o
