heaters

my new car has a heater problem, the heater or fan for the heater doesn't work on setting 1 or 2 but it does on 3 but only with the power of setting 1, confusing i know and it is a real pain in the asse for demisting windows and alike.
its a 1989 1.3 sr with a mk2 dash, any ideas on how to fix the problem?

any suggestions would b great!

You checked all the wiring at the back of the dash is ok matey?

yeh it all looks okay, its really bugging me

Wiring is different from Mk1 -> Mk2 on the blower switch. I had this problem with my saloon. Basically you need to compare the wiring diagrams (see Mr Haynes lol) from the two, as the wire colours have moved round - although it looks like its a colour for colour match its not - matching the colours will result in the blower not working on proper power setting.

i did mine color for color and its fine...

however if youve just plugged the switch streight into the old wiring plug then thats the problem as the wires are in different positions
