GTE or GSI?

Ok, ive been offered a 1.6 GTE G reg for 150, with no tax, no MOT and missing wing mirrors :? Is it worth having you think, or should i get a GSi?

I would say dont look at the badge mate. Look at the car, if its a good condition GTE/GSi then get it. Rust is a real killer, but teh chances are a higher spec nova will have less rust all over.

But for ?150 i would not expect a good example. But you never know.

Tax = ?65 for 6 months, wing mirrors = ?10-20 a pair, MOT ?45 for the test, plus any additional work it'll need to get it through, so you're already looking at about ?120 on top of the ?150 for the car. I'd say depends if it needs any major work for MOT (you'll need at least one of they wing mirrors to get through).

Thanks, but is there any main differences between the two types? BTW the car seems fine, nothing wrong with it apart from the gearbox is on the way out.

tbh i wouldnt pay 150 for a gte to break it unless everythin was mint which for 150 it wont be

as no-one wants gte parts interiors i cant even give away lol i have 1 here if anyone wants it lol no one wants the dash :lol: the only decent thing is the engine and speedos and sideskirts


a gsi on the other hand you could sell everythin on it dash ,seats ,door cards etc etc aswsell as the stuff mentioned on the gte :lol:

theres not much in the performance - according to TV the 0-60 on a gte is 9.1 and a GSi 9.0 - its more the spec and whether the body's in good nick - also whether you prefer the older "hard edged" style or the newer "softer girlie" look - not that I have a prob with a GSi look - I've got a look alike for heavens sake!
