I really wish we had an insurance forum. Oh, wait...

Novas were small block cars, i.e. 1.6 max.

Some companies will insure it as if its the donor car from whence the engine came - think Cav SRi, Calibra, Astra GTE etc. If you want a rough idea use one of those, but bear in mind they're all group 14+ I think.

you wont get insurance till at least 20, with some NCB.

I have had trouble finding a qoute at 19 for a 1.6 engine conversion, none of the insurance companies like engine conversions, i don't care what people say.. really it's 21 untill you'l have a reasonable qoute.

If your with a comapny that accepts engine conversions, stick with them, as when you build up your NCB and swap the engine, it will be less than starting from fresh with the above company

just as a guide, the CHEAPEST price, un-officially is ?1550 for a C16SE conversion at the age of 19, with 2 years of driving an 0 NCB.

HIC made a 325% loss on 19 year olds last year

and i expect some people will put down hwo they had a 2.0 at 19...

but that was then, and not now. There are only a few reputable companies that will do conversions.

namely, Flux, HIC, Priveledge

times have changed unfortunatly.

Everyone on the phone has told me i would have had no problems this time last year, they just said it's a bad year.
