Old engine out, fuel tank off and fuel lines off. Put all your 1.2 stuff on and the wiring for coil etc and you will be fine

If ur changing it all then ud be better off getting gsi stuff and putting that in, rather than fit the 1.2 stuff and then have to change it to gsi stuff in the future.

Why put GSi stuff on for a 1.2 engine? Especially when the 1.2 stuff is already there

What i meant was the GSI engine, springs, anti roll bars, disks, calipers, servo, GSI seats are better, the door cards have the extra bit at the top, you get better clocks (oil pressure, revcounter), split seats in the rear, all the A piller covers etc, carpet over the rear arches etc etc...

yes they told me i could have done that a couple of years back

HIC made a 325% loss on 19 yearolds last year, so they aren't insuring any engine conversions at that age i don't think.

however, they said when i turn 20, i can be insured by them for well under ?1000.

Whilst i was reshelling my GSI i insured myself on a 1.2.
I only got a reduction of approximately ?3.00 per month.

I Think the administrative cost was taken out of that though.

i'm with HIC and i was 19 when i took current policy out last November with my mods declared.

?520 TPFT

when i called them yesterday about putting a 1.6 GTE engine in with the same mods as my 1.3 they said it would be an extra ?240.

Cheaper than what i was expecting tbh, i'm not 20 till May either.

And when i DO do conversion in a month or so it will be even cheaper (less time on policy).

Back to the subject, from the 1.2 you'll need fuel tank+lines, coil, engine and g/box as i found them different in my 1L!!! engine mounts (they are different), Radiator and hoses... O and about 1 day with a big strong bloke to help you!!!
