i am with directline at the moment.
tescos insurance and directline are fairly cheap for young drivers (tescos insurance is run by directline). however they penalise heavily for mods. i got a quote for alloys and they said an xtra ?140. and an xtra ?200 for backbox and replacement ramairfilter

Try Maynard Milton (See back of maxpower mag).

They gave me the cheapest quote (?1390 with 6 points declared, aged 19 living in a cornwall).

They are also friendly and helpfull, and quick at giving quotes as well.

go to CIS cos i was in the same situation last year and they were the best people that i found.

fast+good = not cheap fast+cheap = not good good+cheap = not fast

Go with CIS mate, or tesco which do still do insurance for any age, if you or any member of your family work for them as well you get 10% off which is nice :D

age 22, zero no claims, driving 4 years, no security on car, standard nova - ?710 fully comp with liverpool victoria

Ask for cheapest insurance, not third party...
They quoted me an extra 40 quid for third party fire and theft.
Apperently all insurance companies are going to change so fully comp is cheaper than third part so that people always have the best cover possible and dont take the cheapest crappy option available.

TunaFish is the way forward... you mark my words. :D
