Tatoo's

Has anyone got a tatoo on here? I want to get one across my back (not sure on design yet) but wanted abit of info about them. Obviously the more intrequet the more exspensive, but what would an average price be for one across my upper back? Is the pain as bad as they say or is it reasonably bareable?

I've got one on my shoulder and plan on having it extended.

It cost ?40 a month ago and looks like this:

It was a one off design that the tattoist made to cover up a old one which is underneath.
The pain is open to subject as it chages from person to person but as with a good spray job - preperation is the key, read advise on the 'net about preparing for a tattoo, it's all good info, I followed it as felt fine throughout, obviously there is a stinging / burning kind of sensation but aslong as you have something to eat before you go and you keep calm you'll be fine, my tattooist also give customer a chubba chups lolly whilst he's doing it as the sugar helps and it also takes your mind off things.
Take someone with you that you can chat to throughout as a distraction and it'll be done before you know it.
My one took about 30-40 minutes but it's all black, if you have one with multiple colours then it'll take a little longer.
You might find that it'll hurt a bit more on the back if it's a boney part as there is less flesh to dull the pain.
But my best advise:

MAKE SURE YOU WANT IT - IT'S THERE FOR LIFE!!

Thanks a lot mate. The reason i was going to get it done on my back is because if i saw it every day i might eventually not want it there-but obviously on my back i'd have to purposefully look in a mirror.

I know what you mean though, i really want to be 100% sure i want it and get the design perfect. I also don't want one that will be 'unfasionable' or dated in 20 years time-maybe getting one that means something to me would be good because for me it wouldn't ever be 'dated'.

?40 seems reasonable. I think one across my back would prob be about ?250-?300. I dont think i would get one with loads of colour in it. I'll have a look on the net and see what i come up with.

Yep - that was my mistake, my previous one that was covered up was a mistake which seemed a good idea at the time, when I have that one extended I'm going to have my starsign in that circle bit so it has some personal significance.

jules,you do supprise me mate i didnt think you would be into this,but fair play.. i my self have always been so into tats,(but yet never had one) as siad i thinkits cus im not 100% sure if i want one on my self,i would ony have one like du nova says something that means something to your self,etc..

:D I have a tattoo on the very bottom of my back its a fairy something which i wanted for a really long time i thought about it for ages and i finally just decided to go for it! My tattoo has 11 colours in it and quite alot of detail i think it took about 3 hours, maybe less and it cost me ?100 not to bad!

The best advice that i can give is to make sure you eat something before you go in and that should stop you from passing out! I didnt find it painful at all but everyone is different and it depends on where abouts you have it to! I will take a picture of my tattoo tonight and post it up for you guys to have a look at! :D

Tbh i'm quite good with pain. I think it's easier to handle when something is actually more painful because all i think of it as is a kind of 'sensation' and it doesn't really bother me.

It's quite funny how women always get a tatoo on their 'lower back' (**cough** arse **cough**), but i suppose guys usually have them on their upper back or shoulder.

Breeny what does that symbol mean on your back? Whenever i see them i always wonder if the person with it even know's what it means lol

I quite like the 'tribal' design tat's but think they'll probably look dated soon. I'm scorpio and i do quite like the idea of having some crazy looking scorpion on my back.......

DuNova yes I do know what it means.. lol It's my own idea, its a phrase which is a worldwide saying so was pretty easy to translate.

As for what it means, You'll have to carry on guessing as I don't tell many people :wink:

The only painful bit for me was going over each vertibrae.. It wasn't really 'pain' as such, its just like someone scratching you slowly.. it's kinda addictive at first! Pleeaasuure or paiiiiinnn :wink: lolol

Most tatoo designs are just fads. I'm going to get a design from bodyhair implants.
