After putting the engine back together minus the intake (which is on its way) we have got it out the shed an mounted it to he manual gear box i now have for it.
The position that the engine an box are in in the pics is how it will finally sit and has all been lined up right, although the axle needs to adjusted. I just need to get me some more metal to make the tunnel frame from and get some mounts made up.

Phil, dont you think you had better paint some of that rust

well at lest think about trying to keep it from getting rusty while its sitting there..Also im just wondering how your going to tackle the gear leaver position,as it is already sat where a normal nova hand break would be??

Should be interesting to how you get on with this,as i can see that the most fun will be getting that shaft tunle right and strong, will need to be quite thick yes/no??.

Well good luck mate cant wait to see it progress.

Do i came across as the sort of person that works neat an tidy lol. Although i have started painting stuff that ive done recently, the thing is i have to go back an take it off again in the long run an i cant be arsed with that.

The tunnel doesnt need to mega strong although it will be hold the gearbox/engine up, im not planning on having the prop twat it at high speed

can you even begin to imagine how it would sound with these

m.d.

go for the holly and make the charger pull through the carb. works much better that way. a mate of mine is building a 700bhp small block chevy v8 and he knows his v8 stuff so sounds good to me

the man is talking sense. low boost and you won't need to alter the cr, just retard the ignition a couple of deg.

Sounds like you might need one of these then mate!!

i would love a charger but thing is they are rather expensive, maybe if i save up my student loans i can afford one, the quad carbs is a more realistic one as i can get them second hand for about the same price as twin 45 set up for a 2lt.

Nice one Phil, I saw this car ages ago when you first started it, seems to be taking you some time but I'm having the same problem myself.

Being a student doesnt leave much time for anything else hey?

Good to see that you havent lost interest though, that car is gonna be a beast mate.

Well if thats the case it's a good job he has to alter his pedles as they will need to be extended!

what is the running gear from?

Philsutton
07-02-05, 10:31 PM
the running gear is a mix of rover an volvo stuff, axle is off a volvo 240 exhaust, a real bad boy lol. Prop will be a rover one but made to right size and the gear box is manual sd1

theres an oldish TVR 350i round my way... are they rover v8's ?

they are definetly some sort of V8

anyway, it sounds absolutly amazing, just pops and bangs all the time. I really really want one

sama1cars
09-02-05, 08:13 PM
yes they are rover v8 i raced against 1 a couple of years ago(autotesting) it had an lsd in it, it was a right bit of kit!

Philsutton
09-02-05, 09:12 PM
yeah the tvr's are basically rover V8s, an i think im going to have to use tvr manifolds as they exit forward if that makes any sense. The driving postion is going to have to be altered a little to say the least :D

burgo
09-02-05, 09:25 PM
an i think im going to have to use tvr manifolds as they exit forward if that makes any sense yes that makes sence, the way the exhaust manifolds are now is what made me think you'd have to sit a long way back
