Mark where did he get the manifold from, i'm looking for one now cos i'm on building a phase 4 engine and wanting to fit a T4.

that top hat is an uprated one from regal, if i'm right it has 50mm inside diam., my mate has it on his calibra!

he had the manifold made up from scratch mate, well, sort of.

200sx pipes onto cav turbo flange bit, weld it together & there you go.

iirc someone on mig was selling the flanges seperate, so you would just need a manifold & someone to weld it together.

thanks for the gen on the top hat, i aint 100% what he is running, i jus know he has spent shitloads on it & more to come.

if you fancy it, let him know, he is after something different.

i think with a set of anthracite speedlines or mo's this could be a car i could buy and not do anything with, dont think i have ever owned a car like that b4

I can give you basics of cav turbo, but dave is a bit creative on some of the bits, bear in mind, this is the old one, he is going to ph5 now!

It's EDS phase 4 bottom end,
Arrow steel rods
Machined Mahle pistons
Oil spray nozzles
Standard crank

Fidanza ally flywheel
Sachs race engineering paddle clutch (not sure about cover as supplied by regal)
F28 gearbox with Quaife ATB (4x4)
Locked transfer box 60/40 split (not sure of full details on this)
ABS removed?

Flowed coscast cylinder head
Piper double valve springs
Piper steel caps
Piper Turbo cams
Intake manifold flowed and gasket matched to head and throttle body
EDS large tophat
Airflow meter on pressure side between intercooler and tophat
Front mount intercooler
Pace wide area radiator
Frontera oil cooler
Twin radiator fans mounted on the front of radiator
Nissan turbo manifold converted to LET head flange
Turbo dynamics GT28 turbo 0.86a/r turbine, t04e 0.6 a/r compressor with anti surge shroud and internal wastegate
Twin downpipe to 3" exhaust system with single rear silencer, no cat

Twin pierberg external high flow fuel pumps, with two fuel lines entering modified fuel rail.
MSD 525cc injectors were fitted ready for phase 4 ECU. Regal replaced with stock yellow injectors at moment (not sure why)
Loads of gauges,

Nice engine, thats what i'm on building now while running the phase 3.5 kit, I spoke to chris from regal on saturday and he was saying that theres no real differance on engine work between the phase 4 and phase 5, its a set of bigger cams, big inlet valves and the chips and map sensor exchanged and that takes it to 480 bhp @ around 9000rpm.
so its had me thinking over the weekend why only stick to 400 bhp when i could just finish the engine off while its in bits! :D

I must admit that cav is special! :D

For a T4 you need to change both flanges, its the sma emenifold as on my nova but mine has a external wastegate and a turbo rated to more than 450 bhp like on that cav.

The reason that with phase 5 you have to go to germany for it is that regal have proved incompetant at fitting and setting up phase 3 upwards corectly so there is no chance with phase 5

Ps DD only got 425 from his engine before he ran out of fuel, thats the restriction of moronic for you.

can I run an internal wategate and still run upto about 1.9 bar?

can I run an internal wategate and still run upto about 1.9 bar?

You shud be able to as long as the actuator and the wastegate seat are in good condition although you might experience boost creep when running full boost.

Why do you want to run such high boost and 500bhp in a nova? Do you have a good form or launch or traction control? Have you got a boost controller so you can cap the boost through the rev range in certain gears? With no launch control or traction control your wasting your time really.

I have a diff and the eds kits (when set right) dont give you full boost in the early gears, it creeps up in each gear.
