you can use a screw driver an a hammer, or a small bar.

There is a special tool to remove door pins, i assume the tailgate pins are the same. I would not get it.

Epo on here says that the bonet prop from the nova is the exact size to hammer the pin out!! i would try that!!

yep, just take the clips off the pins then knock them through (while supporting the tailgate)

1 - Remove the retaining clips from each ball end of the hydraulic lifter/pushrod
2 - Literally unclip the hydraulic lifter.
3 - Disconnect Wiper motor electrics, and the washer jet hose, or just cut through them if your not going to be needing them.
4 - Remove the Retaining clip from the Inside of each hinge bolt.
5 - hit the bolts outwards with a hammer, when the bolt dissapears inside the hinge casing, get a small rod (smaller than the diameter of the bolt) and use that to carry on hitting the bolt outwards.

Tailgates are reasonably heavy, so be prepared to take it's weight.

I managed to fit one in the boot of my car, how ironic.
