ok, i know, not a mate really, more like a twat really, but anyway he's always ratlin on about how his metro is wicked, and can beat GSI's SRI etc anyday, and its really pissing me off, i try to explain to him that it may be nippy or wotever, but it is still a f***ing metro!!
my mum drives one!!
any way, are they actaully any good??
and will i whip it in my SRI (DE-cattted, stainless system, kn filter) ?
and wot about GSI beatin? or is that just bullshit??

It wouldnt beat a GSi but it is a quick car!
Is it a Rover Metro or a MG variant?

Insurance Group11.
103 BHP.
0-60 in 8.3 seconds.
Top speed of 116mph.
weighs 840kg.

It IS a fast car, and could keep up with a standard GSi or GTE if the right person was driving it, but id still choose an SRi or SR over a metro anyday!
Main reason being is that it shares the same engine as the 214 16v Si which is fast.

Main reason you dont see too many on the roads is probably because the insurance is so high, and id rather drive around in a GTE/GSi which are the same insurance group and a lot more tweakable...

Hope that helps...only one way to shut him up....waste him and his car!

All I know is that one of my mates who had a 1.4 16v Gta could whip a few RST's and would easily have GTe's or Gsi's. This thing was compleatly standard.......but was f*cking rapido!

He would simply ride it on the limiter through each gear...........and it flew ! :D

nah mate. The K-series engine is 'the dogs' in ternms of design and build. They rev to buggery and would beat a mildly modified Gsi or whatever anyday ........ I think.

The K-series engine is also more 'tweakable' and hey, iit's only a 1.4!

I think the GTA is the gti engine with auto gearbox or something like that, not sure...or it might just be another way to sell more of them...

The Metro GTa is a 1.4 16V single point injection (one injector for 4 cylinders.)

The Metro GTi is a 1.4 16V multipoint injection (one injectior for each cylinder)
