cav box to an xe?

Does anyone know if a cav 2.0 8v box wil fit onto an xe without any problems, It says in the haynes manual that the block on the xe is the same used on the 8v units, any help, greatfully appreciated.

i am running a f16 box on my xe.
xe's normally run a f20 but the 16 is working fine on my car and has done so for the last 6 months with no probs.
only when you start going for more power that it starts to break
