what is with sticking tape accroos your front lights, is it illegal?
ive always seen it about but never knew why and so its been bugging me for ages

For track days, if a stone hits them and they smash, the tape is to hold most of it together.

Unless you are talking about that "Twin headlamp" look, which is basically completely tape over the headlamp and cut 2 circles out per headlamp!
A top quality mod sported by chavs everywhere!

im only aware of the tape put on in a cross for trackdays when needed, an i dont think it will be allowed on the road though

cool just wondered as ive seen it round here and on the track day pics
I also heard that if you have a rally style number on your car you have to cross it thru with tape when driving on the road apparently...

How dose that work as some of them new bmw mini's have numbers on the side to give it the "cooper" look like in the italian job..

My old golf used to have Crosshairs, there used in the golf scene as well but more for looks.
However, like many has said there used in case the headlights shatter.
