Idleing fast

My nova GSI has got a mind of its own.Its only started today ive been on a little drive and all of a sudden when i put my foot on the clutch the revs just rise up.ive took my idle control valve out and cleaned it but it still does it.Now it only idles at 2k when sitting.Can anyone help as im loosing my rag over it.

Have you just tried turning down the idle screw?
maybe your flow meter has just packed in, if it started under fueling badly the revs would raise but not sure about 2k.
how far advanced is your timing? if its over advanced it can cause the revs to raise!
