It could have been repaired (I suppose anything can be) but it really wasn't going to be worth the ??? in the long run. The brakes also needed some work. Really it was going to cost about what the car was actually worth or thereabouts so you need to make the decision...

I was referring to the spoiler in the first place..I have an early mk1 TAILGATE (lol) that is going on it when I've sorted the holes for the mk1 spoiler, as I think the Gsi spoilers are rank (hence the above statement). The tailgate on now needs replacing due to rust..

MK1's just look crap tho! Inside and out. The light's don't make it look 'aggressive', they make it look OLD. They're just the cheapest tackiest square chunk of plastic you can get. And the fit (factory fit) is very poor, gaps everywhere.

Not that the Mk2's are MUCH of an improvement, but the whole front end looks slightly better on a Mk2. Not to mention the dash and etc.

tbh, mels GTE is a classic example.

i think they look way more Aggresive, mean and angry. the mk2 is a bit of a nancy looking thing from the front end.

My GTE's the reason I love novas, especially mk1's. I saw it once when driving past it, and fell in love instantly. Have been hooked ever since.

GTE's are the dogs danglies of novas (imo). The front's suit the box shape of the arches/car itself..

I agree tho Nick, the mk2 front IS nancy looking..very girly lol..(like I said imo).

Btw, Mk1 interiors are rank, I don't dispute that..it's ALL in the face (front) tho :wink:

Here is a pic of my mates old mk1,now i know it's like a relly rear thing to see,but didnt see many of these it's a mk1 on H plate and it was a 1.4SR..

Was a nice car till some nobba drove into the door(i managed to push it out ok for him) but then some ass broke into it and nicked the head unit,and broke the steering wheel off trying to nick the car(they kicked the steering wheel hoping to brake the steering lock) :roll:

(oh must add i fitted the astra mk4 spliter on this car back in 2001) :P
