on some xe conversions there is a 3rd coolant pipe tapped into the header tank. its a simmilar size to the small one on the top. im not sure where this comes from or even if its needed.

any info would be cool

on mine it is from the alternator side of the inlet manifold at the back, its only a very thin pipe. Im not sure if its actually needed as it doesnt flow much water at all.

i see. i may just block it off then. the wather outlets all look similar to my 8v and that does not need one.

its a heater pipe for the throttle body to help improve driving when cold quicker

I never blocked mine off on my XE, I used an Astra expansion bottle, but on sean's Srs1, the pipe was blocked off and the noraml Nova bottle used, nevertheless mine is getting blocked off and a nova bottle used

lol

ive heard of people just putting a T piece into the pipe leading to the top nova header tank bottle. saves drilling a hole in the header, i may just do this. if it helps with warming the car up anyway. i love my heaters lol

remove the fitting from the inlet manifold and replace it with a bolt of ur choice, the water way is used for better running when cold etc but it isn't necesary. Or as the pic shows T piece it in, eitehr works, blanking it looks a lot tidier
