A friend of mine has a C16XE engine being built (think it's a C16XE - corsa GSi) or it maybe the X16XE.. anyways...

They've been qouted that by buying a custom and slightly worked inlet manifold (nothing major) it'l relase up to 40bhp from the engine.

I knew this was a restrictive point, but not THAT restrictive ?

ERm 40BHP is a little optamisic.

think mantzel quote 20% would would be a 22BHP gain.

yeah i agree 40bhp is in max power world. I've heard 20 is realistic.

40 does like a lot but the inlets on these engines are very restictive and getting rid of it will see a very nice increase

I would change the manifold before anything else, my mate changed his on his 1.4 16 engine and it used to hit the limiter in 5th! what a differance!

its not unrealistic with the right mapping, but with just the inlet very doubtful

velos claimed 150bhp with their pulse450 kit and DTA mapping

thats 40bhp over std but it like to think the pulse450 inlet manifold was slightly better than the mantzel unit (it had summat like 42mm inlet runners - larger than most TB's used on that engine)

and DTA management isnt cheap
