either remove the switch from that location all together and relocate it, or you can modify the plug somehow.

stick a diode in the black wires that run to the switch

the hazard switch is a dodgey thing on a nova. however if someone does nick it this way then they wont get too far as certain electrics dont work, such as the cooling fan etc, causing the car to over heat and potentially f**k ur engine. the samething happens by twisting together the two live wires for your stereo.
