exaust Noisy?

Aint drove a car with a big exaust really before untill i just took my car out for a spin was going along like 50 in 4th And the noise of the exaust was loud i got a 4" back box and a full system Just wondering what it is like When ure going down the motor way at 70 80 for long distance dont it anoy people? just spose ill have to get used to it :D got loads a looks when i was going at 400 rpm down the street Lol

Yeah, from ppl saying "ouch, he's under-revving his engine" :lol:

I had a peco (lol) BB2 3" back box on mine, sounded nice but not too loud especially when you were going at speed.

On the other hand, my mate had two 5" rage back boxes on his SR.... at speed, that gave you a headache :?

when i drive round normally you can see people giving you evil looks, an when ever i go in a multistory car park some old guy will come an voice his dislike of my noisy car. I kind of miss being annoying

i got a parent grab there kid in tesco carpark when i drove past from the noise lol oh i did feel bad. mine is fairly noisy on long trips. just turn the radio up :D

no radio or anything could drown it out, so it got taken off.

a man in the local high security multi story announced over the tannoy that if i didn't stop revving my car (i was only trying to park) he'd have me thrown out and banned from using it

Well mine (at the mo) is a nice not to loud but deep tone,but is loud under revs and you get looks of ppl when your not even going fast,infact i find it makes a deeper low sound the lower i keep the rev range,say 3rd or 4th at 25-30mph,you can set car alarms of with the deep tone... :lol:

I got a BB4 on mine on tick over its not to bad (unlike a mates punto which is annoying as fuck, sounds like mine on 2000revs) with it being cold need to have the engine on for th heaters lol :D always set alarms off with out trying and when i do try (people i dont like) i cant so i get annoyed lol
yeh at about 70-80 the exhaust is loud but not annoys so the music just goes up if i do get annoyed :D

Most novas i hear with any performance exhaust is loud.
Seems weird as my astra is very quite with any exhaust on, had a 4" rage box on and wasn't really loud. And yet a 1.2carb nova which is less bhp than my car just has a peco zaust on and just ticking over you can hear it, pulling away you can hear it from a few streets away.

So any ideas why mine is totally quiet and yet 60bhp compared to that novas 55bhp. :?

Woot just took my car for the first time donw a long straigt of road . Stopped at side of the road then just put ma foot down to 6000 rpm in first second 3rd then 4th got too about 94 mph then i started to get close to the roundabout Wasnt as loud as i thought it would be once i get to a high speed Didnt even get in to 5th gear still had alot more to go Have to take it a bit further next time

Try this for loud straight through ashley front pipe and a custom jp 4" exhaust and a proven 126db at the mot garage. Police made me bros mate have it took off or prove its road legal. Road legal by 2db :D

Theres no legal limit to exhausts. Its upto the officer to decide wether its making to much noise for the type of car it is.

i doubt that that is the limit that would make your ears bleed, ive also been in trouble with the police for noise levels

the limit is 78-80db at 7meters perpendicular to the side of the vehicle with the engine at half its max rpm
