horn not working

my horns not workin,and cant get mot tilit does

ive bought replacement horn and fitted-not workin
checked for power to horn- yes
checked fuse-yes
checked for breaks in cable-yes-none

any ideas as im sick of havin 2 pay for retests!!!!! :(

probably the hom contact ring in the steering wheel

remove the column shroud and find the brown wire that attaches to a pin on the back of the indicator stalk mounting thing

ground this pin and see if the horn sounds

if it does then the problem lies with the contact ring/horn push on the wheel
if this is the case u could get away with simply fitting a new button somewhere on the dash with a basic push switch on it with one side of the switch attached to that wire and the other side grounded

if it DOESNT then check the continuity between the pin u just remove the wire from and ground when pressing the horn button, if it conducts electricty fine then run a new wire from the horn negative to the pin on the column

u also dont need to pay for a retest on a horn fault, it clearly states that on the back of the fail certificate
