Has anyone got the link to the thread that Cambridge posted on changing FD?

bit of a long shot.

Also can it be done with engine and box still in car?

i.e. at a scrappy?

yes it can be done in situ, BUT you need to support the engine/gearbox as youy undo the front passenger mount


oh, i tried to put that link in the FAQ's but firefox is having none of it for some reason

ive got bored so im writing a full detailed guide as a text document.
and i mean full lol its nearly down to which socket to use. a proper dummies guide to cover most bases

Don't worry about supporting the engine.

It's a scrapper, so let the engine drop, it wont go far as there are two other mounts. If you are after the FD, you'll need to pull the front tie bars and get the shafts out.

gonna go scrappy tomo and see about getting a gearbox with a 4.18 (doubt they'll let me just have the diff).

shouldn't break the bank. least i don't have to worry about putting it back together as much.

cambridge do you still have the article on using bike TB's on an XE, i think you scanned it from a mag?

i never did such a thing lol. i scanned a basic fitting guide for XE into a nova.
