how cheaply could i build a 2l 8v?
the costs would have to include everything including
buying a nova and maybe a doner cav sri.

thanks for any help.

U can get a nova for between 200 and 1000, but depends how good u want the shell, ide recomend a good shell.

Engine 150
Mount kit 50
GTE driveshafts (2nd Hand) 60
Mk2 cav inner cv's 35each
16v brakes 30 (2nd hand)
Uprated suspension between 100 (2nd hand) and 800

Depends if u want it to be a bodge job or it to be done properly to avoid problems, really would say that its best to do it properly

im thinking of buying a complete cav sri 8v so that id have the engine and all parts aswell as the brakes. if i ever get started this will be a slow project so i could wait untill cheap parts come up.
so i could keep costs down.

well i got the engine and had it running in my nova for less than 300 quid.

you can get a gte for about 300 too so all you would need to do then is get the gte shafts and buy mk2 inner cv's (15 quid each from the scrappy)

you can use the nova/astra mounts to fit the engine and im using the nova rear gearbox mount just modified with a few washers to keep the engine streight.all works fine and has been fine for 1 1/2 years now.
