Has anyone been to the N?rburgring?

Want to go, but finding it difficult to find any decent information about it.

Where abouts in Germany is it? Where can you get ferries to etc.

Any info will be great, Cheers 8)

Some of the lads from this site go down each year. Keep your eyes open for posts nearer the time. I dont know exactly when they go down there, but its around the middle of the year.

We are going in June! It was supposed to be May, but the 24hr race's are on, so June is more suitable!

Well This a paste from PVG events site...

Nurburgring Trip ***UPDATE***

We've just been told that the Ring opening times won't be released until March. So, it's impossible to make any plans yet. A few things we have found out are that the 24 hour race meeting is being held at the Ring on the second weekend in May. Last year this event was in June and meant that the Ring was also closed the weekend before. Also, the European GP is being held at the GP circuit at the end of May so traffic would be a nightmare! The only weekend likely to be open in May is the third - and that will be very busy with the locals! This might mean we will need to re-schedule for April or more likely, June. We'll publish more info as we get it.

We normally depart Friday lunchtime and return on the Monday or Tuesday of the following week. Ferry crossing prices are around ?110. You'll also need money for fuel, hotels, food and your lap money. Talking of which, prices have been increased for 2005. Its best to buy multiple lap tickets - the more laps you buy the cheaper it gets per lap. A 5 lap ticket is around ?42 (current exchange rate).

Hope this helps some of you.

me and a few mates go over to europe every year. Last year we didnt make it to the Ring as someone snapped a driveshaft in brussels so we had to wait for that to be repaired. This year we are going to treffen then to the ring, then just touring europe for a week and there is a car show the following sunday which we are going to.
