Industry News
The days of seeing poor hatchbacks driving around tarted-up like total sheds could thankfully be numbered thanks to Max Power and Haynes. The two have teamed up to produce a new series of car manuals, with easy-to-follow instructions on how to make (largely tasteful) modifications if you choose to 'Gary' your hot-hatchback.

From bodykits to suspension mods, including security and In Car Entertainment (ICE) systems, the 'definitive guide to modifying' has been written for four models initially - the Mk2 VW Golf, Peugeot 306, Vauxhall Corsa Sport and Citroen Saxo VTR. More models are likely to follow in the Autumn. Available at ?19.95 apiece, the four individual-model manuals sell alongside a general guide to modifying, and a guide to ICE, which will all be in-stores from mid-March.

some people do need em ..theres some fella near me with a horrible red sierra with a black whaletail, black (fake) bonnet vents, tiny alloys and upside down bmw grill on the front. Its so funny its a peice of crap. Then theres a micra with gold wolfrace alloys (on light blue micra) and it has a massive playboy rabbit sticker on the bonnet!!

Well i think its a great idea.
loads of modded cars that look the same, all with badly fitted parts, badly fitted wheels with the wrong offset or diameter for the car...

GREAT!
makes all the proper modded cars look all the better.

the name is misleading - because i am not called wisewood.

lol@wisewood....very true!

They could chuck in free window sticker with the books saying "Modded with the help of Magic Pooer and Haynes" :D

I used to buy MAX all the time too.....I've even got the very first two issues!
It was better back then though.

I remember the BMW too with the huge wide arch kit, and chequered paint. Didn't look too bad, especially compared to thunder (The lime/yellow Carlton).

Can peeps remember the edition with where Project Thunder was in "Wheel of Death"?
The lad who won it smashed it through a shop....lol!

Anyone know what happened to the other project cars?
