got my car back from body shop few days ago and there are so many runs of lacquer on the paint work, im really unhappy and angry about this as i paid good money to have a few panals sorted out.
Im taking the car back to the body shop 2morow, my question is how hard would it be now to remove these lacquer runs? Does it require a total respray on the effected panals?
cheers
Unlucky mate, unfortunately no you can't just remove the laquer. The area's will need rubbing back, (possibly) priming and then spraying again. I'd demand my money back if i were you, or at least some of it back and the area's that are bad re-done.

easiest way would be to go back to the body shop an tell them they have done a poor job. Where i take mine, the guy wont let me have the car back unless its perfect, and even redid it all as it wasnt right, even though it looked good to me.

im so angry, i know ppl say thats a 'mint' car etc - but this one really was before it went in, the only reason it went in was for a slight bit of rust on one arch nothing serious but i want it to be kept mint. This guy has resprayed all my panals with lacquer by the looks of it and done it while with his eyes are shut!!!
if its just runs in the lacquer then get yourself some 1200 wet and dry and gently rub where the run is until its gone then polish it, its what we do at work anyway

runs in the laquer can be removed as stated above with 1200 wet n dry (wet) but id use a 1500 or possibly 2000 grit (wet) before compounding. however if there are a lot of runs it may be easier to use a courser wet n dry over the runs (quicker to flat) and re-laquer the whole panel. otherwise you may find alot of NOTICEABLE swirl marks from compounding all over and these will show up like a dog in certain light on this panel compared to the other uncomponder panels.
