Mk1 1.2 3door :D

Just got it today and have been giving it a damn good polish - i dont think the car has ever seen a bottle of wax before in its life!!

Got it for ?150 which i reckon is a right bargain because only one arch/sill has rust - the boot floor has had welding done in it and is solid. Also needs a new front wing because its badly dented..

Has full service history up until 2000, have all previous MOT's, Tax discs etc, and has only covered 88000 miles.

Got some big plans for it - its staying off the road for now to be worked on - gonna mk2 the front end with a GSi bigmouth, GSi interior, hopefully a 1.4sr engine with Twin 40's will be coming soon as well as a load of other stuff..

is it burgandy or red ?

looks like a slightly redder colour that mine.

cheers guys. Cant wait to get started on it, i hate the mk1 interior sooo much..

Its also wierd to get in the car, and be able to start it from cold and not have the engine stall if you put in the choke :lol: Got so used to the carb icing in my blue one that i was surprised when i could start this one without the choke..

Nick - i think it is a burgundy colour - or used to be :lol:

The paintwork is really faded, and it took me hafl an hour to polish up that half of the bonnet!!

i had the same thing when i got me new car with no choke, but was fun havin a choke cruising around at 30 in 3rd not toychin the peddles lol

well whatever colour it is, it looks clean (roadknight will tell you)

suprised that bonnet doesn't have any chips on it l

i need to send mine down to the bodyshop and get it oversprayed, sort out all the chips and scratches it's aquired.

sorry but I prefer the look of mk2's mate. Its definately going to be GSi stylee - ive done the mk1 GTE thing with my 5door :D

If the insurance would cover me on a valver then i would do that mate, but they wont cover me on anything bigger than 1.6 and that is ?1800tpft :o

LOL i doubt you would want one of the wings mate - its got a massive dent in it, but the rest would prolly be up for sale in a month or so :wink:
