Its the simplist mod that you can do!!

All u need to do is undo a few bolts!

yes but ppl go on about gotta put new shocks on etc so its not just a few bolts

the entire strut comes off with 4 bolts

u then remove the top mount from the old shock (one nut, u need 19mm gooseneck spanner and a small spanner to hold the damper) and fit that to your new shock/spring combo

then bolt it back onto the car with 4 bolts

rear is even simpler, one bolt holding shock to axle, one bolt holding shock to arch, 17mm spanner is all u need (plus possibly a small spanner to hold the rod same as the front) then the springs just fall out

even if u dont have the tools:

haynes manual: ?15
spring compressors: ?10
gooseneck spanner ?5

so it costs u ?30 in tools, u can then do it yourself in the future and have just saved 60quid

most garages are dodgy as fuck and as such i wouldnt let any of em touch my car, ive let garages do work a few times to other cars of mine and theyve alkways fucked summat up

depends if you just want to lower it or if you if you want it to handle better

it depends what you want, lowering springs you just change the springs and keep your old dampers, there pretty crap as the dampers wont be set up to work with them and the handling will be rubbish

if you want any decent handling get the springs and dampers, they are designed to work together and you get better handling and they last longer

if you don't change the dampers now, after a few months of lowering your car you will more than likely have to change them as they will not cope with the added stress when lowering

may aswell do it all at once!
