polished and ported

hey, mite be gettin a polished and ported 1.2 head and was wounderin can u tell to look at a head if its been polished and ported or is it all totaly internal?

if you look in the ports you should be able to tell

how do i do that and how will i know im lookin at a p-p head

it will be very smooth inside the ports, also check that the ports are for a 1.2 (I was sold an SV head as a GTE head and the ports are different shapes - which I only found out when I tried to fit it!)

You'll see grinding and polishing marks rather than the rough cast finish of a standard head. If you can it would be best to find out who did it i.e like a known name in the tuning industry which would give you a lot more confidence it will actually be any good. If its done by an amateur who doesn't know what they are doing it could even be worse than std cos these head are pretty good as std. In any event the ports of the intake site should'nt be highly polished - they should be smooth but with a rough sanded finish or like its been sandblasted
