i've just bought myself a j reg 1.2 nova and am getting itchy fingers on what to do first?i've got together a bit of money and want to know if anybody has any good suggestions about where and what to start modding cheers andy :)

no pics at the moment its white with sr bumpers, i want to lower it 60 mm on 15's is this to low or should it be ok?

really does depend on the offset of the wheels, iff the wheels are the right offset (et49) you shouldn't have any problems. 60mm isn't too low either lol

alloy's
lowered suspension
air filter
exhaust system
then every thing else really? :wink:

Give it a good service first then, make sure its running smooth, and treat any rust. Then you'll have a top car to start your modifying on.

Stop it spreading.
Sand it down to bare solid metal, then treat it with rust stopper, then prime, smooth off, spray colour.

Oh god more sanding down :'( And spraying can i do just like a 6" sqaure But then when i spray it my self im gonna end up been able to see the spray lines aint i:(

Vary's considerabily...

Anything from ?200 - ?2000

Expect to pay, ?500 - ?1000 for a decent job. Tho... and if your handy, Maybe you could do some prep work for the sprayer, this could get the price down slightly...

I no a friend who is getting his clio painted for ?400 in some custom colour and hes done all the prep work him self I mite give them a call and see what they can do mine for :o :o

:O just phoned premier coachworks in cleethorpes asked what it would be for a full respray in Blue he said depending on the state of the body lookiuing at ?800 to ?1500:O and i payed ?300 for the car paint is worth more than the car ;o think ill get the spray cans

it'd be hard to get a good job from cans mate

lol well my car cost me ?100 and the full respray was already done although it does need touching up in places.and still need the bumper colour coded. :x
andy was quoted about ?850-?1000 to get a full respray after the gits had messed up his paint work.
i suggest you ask chris nicely.lol

Yea need my bumpers coded could do them my self aint that hard to do i think .. But still rather Save up and get a full respray :)

Also to be quicker get Astra or Cav 16v brakes with the ATE calipers + pads, you can usually pick them up for ?30-?60 or just go to a local scrappy. For this mod you need to remove (or bash back) the protector plate behind the discs,
