or just buy some 40mm springs for the rear.....
tbh if the alloys are right then u shouldnt have any problems
et45 17's with rolled arch lips should be fine
tbh i'd just buy the car and sort it afterwards
springs are cheap, alloys are cheap too
if everything else on the car checks out its not worth not buying it for that small issue

yer fcuk it ill jus buy it i realy want it
rite i have come up with a brillient plan and didnt really want to tell anyone but i will, see thats how nice i am. what it is is to buy a pair of rear monroe max air shock absorbers for a buick invictor 1963, these cost ?110 for the pair, then also get yourself a tyre inflator that plugs into your cigeret lighter. then you read this and you'll get where im going http://www.monroe.com/products/mp_detail.asp?cat=0&detail=Max%20Air

is this a piss take or does it actualy work?
i swear down it works. i work with a bloke who actually has a buick invictor which is 3 tons of american metal, he has just fitted a pair of these shocks and they raise and lower the car with such ease usin just a normal tyre inflator valve!!!

easy enuff 2 fit also what shops do them!? lol
you would have to order them direct from monroe i think and the shocks are direct replacement, then you just have some thin air pipes which you would run to the back of the car for easy access

what about speed bumps should i be worrying about them?
just stick some 40mm springs on the rear simple

Burgo -
I have the same setup on both my mountain bikes, air shocks, if you let alot of air out of them it starts to control their ride height.
i think you'l find the suspension will however degrade and go very mushy towards the lower extremes !
it's a bloody good idea tho !
the main thinking behind it is so you can slam it when you get to a show then jack it back up for the speed humps on the way home
yep tis a good idea.
im just saying that there'd be crappy suspension quality IMO
