Is it possible from the 16v xe engine? Thottle boddies, big injectors, boered out, ported etc etc??

It is possible, but your looking at throttle barrels rarther than barrels, HUGE cams, loads of head work... LOCK STOCK THE LOT!

surely it would have 2 b a touring car spec engine, i remember the Cavvys knocking out about 300BHP

Sin a few ex BTTC 4 for sale in the motorsport news. Not overly expensive, like ?2500

thats not the problem thou!

highly tuned engines need services every 5 mins :O

you will be lookin at around ?12k of engine mods to attain this fron a 2L XE block without nitro or a turbo.
it includes stuff like double injector assembly (8 injectors)
moded valves
uprated cam
titanium valve caps
uprated pistons
lightweight crank
dry sump

lots of other bits and pieces to strenthen engine and uprate fuel pressure.

you could always tune two engines and have a twin engined nova you could get it up to about 1000 bhp with a LOT of money and big nitros jets lol

look at the spec - McLaren F1 628bhp, 231mph(or is it 238?)

Jap Skyline crew 1200bhp struggle to get much past 200

If it rolled at 1200 bhp then its 1200 bhp. Simple. Look at that yellow supra (Max Power), 249mph!!! just over 1000bhp.

the 1200bhp is with turbo..
maclaren f1 weighs sod all, and aint got a turbo, still mucho up on power:weight, and much more aerodynamic which is very important above 130mph!!!!
