I got featured recently in a Dublin based magazine called 'Modified Motors' I dont know if you would get it over in the uk, so i have scanned the pages in for you all to have a wee look at ,, :D
The only comments I would have about it is, the terrible grammer and inaccuracies, ie winning trax, they never mentioned it was winning car of the show at the PNG stand etc etc, and they put the claimed BHP as 256 which was the benched output, slap a gearbox etc on it and I will be lucky to get 210 - 220 at the wheels, but anyway its still nice to get my first feature
ALL COMMENTS WELCOME

Well done Alex,
pitty it had to be modified motors - I'm from Dublin and don't bother with that mag at all - it's usually full of jap crap and the wrong info. Also, not a big fan of their page layout and text style. I think I'll have to get a copy of it this month - Well done again.
Cheers,
Mick
PS. Myself and a few of my mates are trying to organise an Opel/Vauxhall meet this year - around the midlands to be fair to everyone - Would you be interested??

I am glad I broke the jap mould, and brought the mighty vaux back into play
Please forward details and the meet to my email address and I will gauge some interest in the north here

Well done mate. Something to show your grandkids
I am soooo glad more people are seeing the light with mk1's!
Only thing I have to complain about is the front bumper. It's not my style, sorry, but if you like it, that's great.
Well done on the feature
congratz! love the car, but as already mentioned, the front bumper isnt my taste either, but then again, its not my car! ... wish it was :P

Thanks guys
I was real chuffed to see it on paper for the first time, but I posted a thread before about total vauxhall, they were meant to feature the car in september, but because of Matt Joy leaving, everything got lost, and now that Paul Wolfe has stepped in they dont seem to want it anymore, beats me,
I would really like to get a feature in one of the mainstream mags in the UK, but I think my chances are fading fast
Oh well they will just have to miss out lol

Nice feature.
Can you post up the complete engine spec for that power output? I'm interested cause thats really good for carbs.
Cheers.
Looks very similar to the 2.0l that was featured years ago in ireland with the Lotus badges.

As I was saying on my first post when the engine was built MED bench test the engine at 256 so the mag decided that would be the cars bhp, but if you look at it realistically when you slap a gear box on that, put it in the car, I should be looking 210 - 220 bhp @ the wheels

Yep, Marcus Plowman's, A16V00. The car that made me what a Nova, First seen it when i was 15/16. It was THE Nova, if not THE best modifyed car i'd seen back then.
Its still in his garage, hasn't been started in about 5 years, but he's working on plans to rebuild it soon! I'll get pics once its started!
