right then peeps, over the next couple of monthsi am planning to to build a top end up to put on my bottom end. Im thinking of:

SRi Head
Kent Cam
Vernier
Twin 40's
Headwork etc

I have a 4 branh and sytem allready so that dont need lookin at but not sure what else will need to be done.

also with the cam, whaich should i go for and how far should i go with the head. im hoping to get about 110bhp, is this going to be realistic or am i being a bit optimistic!

Benji, Cambridge ETC, what do you think???

the nz block is the same as the nv block (ie nova sr block)

get the compression accurately measured and block and head skimmed to bring the compression up to 10-10.5:1 with the SRi head on

b+ the sri head

fit a cam (290-300 degree - piper do a nice 300deg one, or theres the kent ast2)

then some 40's

110bhp is possible with that lot i recon, if not more

I'd go withAAragon's suggestions and you will see at least 120bhp possibly more.

yer looking at the spec again when im not tired - its similar to dans which produces 142bhp on a 1.6

some basic maths:

142/1.6*1.4 = 124.25

so as mc said 120-125 is probably doable

sweet, didnt think that kind of figure was going to be possible. fingers crossed and will get her on the rollers once she is done to see just how she goes.

if all goes according to plan should have it built for end of march/begining of april time 8)

NV is SR block? My 1.2 had an NV block... :?

The letters refer to the type of engine, ie square port head etc.....

E14SE & E16SE both SE engines but one is a 1400 and one a 1600.

the 1.4sr (NV) does have the same block as the 1.4spi (NZ).
Aragorn is correct. The 1.2spi block is different though for obvious reasons.
