56 miles on ?10 is bollocks!! I can cover about almost 200 miles on ?10 in my gsi and it's quite firsty!! Check the seal on the fuel sender (not sure where it is on the 1.0) that's quite a common cause of fuel leaking out.

Well like most drivers on the roads today, i don't use my mirrors. I also pull out on people when they are AT the junction and then accelerate to 30 mph in a time of 10 minutes. Fucking tossers

37ish litres of fuel will get me 280miles on my twin 40's. Thats around 35mpg.

I drive to uni&back 4 times a week-it's 13 miles each way-that's 106 miles. Doh! 200 was a typo sorry, was meant to be 100. Anywho's that's still twice what 1400_sri got.

with my 1.0, 1.4 8v and 1.6 16v ive seemed to keep a constant 40mpg

i recon its due to the fact that although its bigger engine - its more efficient when crusing, so that offsets the extra fuel used when caning it
