i phoned up performance direct and got a quote for:

engine: valver on carbs with cams and head work 195bhp,full zorst system with center exit.

bodywork: de-seamed,bodykit,vent,smoothing certain parts, all round tints, flip floppy paint job.

wheels: 17s

inside: well thats a secret!

t.p.f.t for ?2,600 pounds eeeeek but i was gonna pay that until

i called adrian flux said all of whats upabove there quote

t.p.f.t was .........?1420.00
valued at ?4900.00 and 5000 miles limit a year.

well i'm 17 and when i rang up adrian flux, they said we can't insure you for a modded car if your 17 or 18 LOL

hmmmmm I think it is about time I rang around for some quotes on a larger engined nova again,I may ring round using my old gte details and see if it has dropped at all!-Im getting bored of a 1.2

try co-op insurance! 19years old, 2nd car, 1 accident - DOH! t.p.f.t, only increasd bhp ups the rate, bodywork they dont mind wot u do! 1200 quid! not 2 bad! (1.2 no engine mods!) 0 yrs no claims

Well, I'm with Performance Direct and I'm definitely going to shop around when my insurance is next due.
It's about ?530 tpft on my GTE with 15" astra alloys, JP stainless system and 60mm Pi springs, which isn't too bad.
Plus the fact that I've got NO SECURITY at the mo (apart from a false dash light and gear-lever to handbrake lock - well, I've gota secret immobiliser too ;) and I'm fitting an alarm this weekend), but even so, I'm 24 with 4 years NCD so it should be a lot less than that I would have thought :-/
(It's parked on road too......I don't know what risk my area is.....wouldn't have though it was high.....probably medium)

The thing is though, on my Antibes, I was quoted twice as much by Adrian Flux than Performance Direct, so what the fuck is going on there?????

I'll just ring around at the time and see what's what.

rich mate - ste probably told em it was standard coz he knows he could swap the engine back before anyone got to see it...
he could probably do it in half an hour all the practice he has had. :D
