spins in 3rd gear in wet!!
thinking maybe ltd slip diff,
i know theres loads of 2ltr Nova's out there so someone must have some ideas!!

get rid of the shite tyres and put some decent ones on
even my 1.6 spins up all over the place in the wet with the current tyres(shit ones on shit wheels as my other ones are getting replaced)
the uniroyal rainsports i had on before were MUCH better

notice the grip in both wet and dry are rated much better for the ones i listed here
plenty folk on here and on mig favour both the f1's and the rainsports, dunlops also seem to score highly but ive not heard of many people using them (probably due to price)
Learn to control how much power to put down rather than flooring it in every gear, be more gentle with the accelerator.

when its wet even my SR spins in third if i prat about. then again, it does still have the original 'biscuit' SR 3 spokes on :lol:

Having an LSD won't really help you much as far as spinning up in 3rd in the wet. As has been said, a progressive throttle is the way to go.
try transfering the lead boot onto the other foot, then you might just blow the engine up instead. that would solve you traction probs.
as already said, either get a lsd or just stop booting it in the rain.
before you say it. i have an xe, and yes it does spin and yes i know how to controll the grip. just think of a 1200 nova going past you at 10mph cause your just dancing on the spot trying to get grip.

I would go with a L.S.D it works more than I was expecting! Mine wont spin in 3rd in the wet!

im getting a quaife lsd for mine to help with grip, driving in the rain isnt much fun at all you just have to learn to be more gentle with it.
yoko AVS sports are ace in the wet! bit steep on the wallet tho.
my current falken ZE512 are ok, but the yoko's were better?

yep...uni's are best in the wet, especially in longitudal grip. i have a set of rallye 540's on my vr6 and can use full throttle in the wet in first gear! obviously you have to feed the power gently but thats true in any powerfulish car.
start by using the throttle more gently....its not a light switch and doesn't have to be on or off, it has an in-between stage.
if still not getting better results get some uniroyals.
still not happy get a quaife ATB diff (better than a LSD)...never lift mid corner with a diff tho or you'll crash and burn.
When me and my mate finished our LET nova we only had the original TD steel wheels on with 165,65,14's on with 300bhp. In the wet pulling onto the motorway i could get wheelspin all the way to7200 in 5th! which is why we then got some 16's! and even then it needed a diff,
Zero Traction
Used nan Kang tires, they were cheap but then had loads of grip I thought, weren't bad for a budget tire
the reason why nan-kang tyres have reasonable grip, is due to the fact they are made of chocolate lol.
just a really soft soft compound tyre, that's why the insides go in about 6 weeks.
they've lasted a lot longer than 6 weeks I can tell ya, we'll see how they get on when I get my car back on the road
