View Full Version : do i risk no cambelt cover?

not sure on this was bout to start modding my rocker early (xe) by grinding the end lip off so i can run with no cambelt cover. will be using the car everyday . will be on 45s and i just think they look so nice with out one. whats your experince peps ? keep it or take it off dont want a stone in there really!! :?

keep it mate , not worth the hassle if a stone gets up in there

No cambelt covering is just asking for trouble. Don't be stupid mate, who cares about seeing silly red pulleys, is an XE with huge 45s enough for you to show off? Apart from stones breaking the belt, you risk getting oil or grease in there and jumping a tooth.

if you really want to show of your pullys mod the cover and fit a little perspex window :D

my mate has a an XE, and he has two holes cut where the pulleys are!! looks quiet trick whilst maintaing the cover 8)

I like riggys idea.

Just get a thin piece of perspex cut a hole and use some plastic glue.

what about using an alloy sump gaurd that the rally drivers use?that will keep all the crap out of the engine bay whilst allowing you to leave your cam cover off.

i cut my cam cover in half so only the bottom was coverd but u cud still see the shiny cam up top and it was fine, no stones or owt :roll:
