View Full Version : Injection system on 1600
I am building a 1600t40.
The engine is from a 91 J - plate Gsi.
Will I need any engine plugs etc off of it to make it run?
Or is it exactly the same a my old SR on carbs?
Thanks
Paul
You can run it just as your SR with the SR ignition etc, you might just have to plug up the EGR valve hole.

sr ignition won't fit the head and camshaft will it?
Why not?
Think you'll find it will.
Are you going to use an aftermarket cam?

thought the dizzy drive on the gsi cam is different to the sr?
if you use an aftermarket one then it will work i think.
I will be using a piper 285 cam.

I will repeat ;Use the Sr ignition.

Ok,
Is the EGR hole in the back of the cylinder head inbetween the two middle inlet's?

yes it is in between the inlet ports, just tread the hole and put a bolt in it with a copper washer.
