I must admit that I really miss my Nova and every time I see a good one or get to drive CP, Jims etc I feel really jealous, but....... When you get to drive an M535i on a day like today when the Sun is out and the roads have dried, WOW! How much fun!

With the help of Cambridge I have fixed the fuel pump problem that the car had. It meant that if I tried thrashing the car with less than a full tank that the car spluttered. Now its fixed I got to drive the car properly today on the first truly dry day in ages and boy did I have some fun, high speed drifting keeping your foot in, and thats something you can't get from a Nova.

Despite this, I still can't wait till my Mk1 Golf GTi is finished as I know that the only way to make quick progress is a well sorted small FWD hot hatch!

Nice one MC. That bmw is sweet. Look forward to a passenger ride at some point with the back end out??? I remember that celica GT4 on the way back from the tesco shopping experience.
Was it 3 or 4 up with shopping galore in the car. And still wiped out the celica lmao!! (All done on a private track of course) lmao!

Also mate ill be expecting you to take my nova for a hard thrashing at some point?? its not an ask. its expected lmao!!! Perhaps a passenger ride in my own car at some curcuit this year?

Of course, took your last one out for a rag, only problem with cars like yours and Jims, you both fix the seats straight to the floor, I can't reach the bloody pedals!

What spec mk1 are you building MC? I recently built a mk1 2L 16v for a friend, brilliant cars and out handles my nova every time

I have a 1982 Mk1 Golf GTi 1600cc in black. Thanks to CP it is having a full bare shell respray in the original colour with all original decals and trim. I have hopefully got everything to make sure it is original and mint.

I have however bought uprated brakes and coilovers and have modified the engine.

I wanted the engine to look standard, so have done the following:

1mm overbore with reground crank etc.
Blydenstein head with 1mm bigger valves and wated stems (custom made)
285deg piper cam
4-branch manifold and system
10mm larger TB from 5cyl audi (flowed)
K&N panel
Fully mappable K-star ecu to control the mechanical injection.

I've also got some Corrado G60 steel rims with 195/45/15 toyos.

Hopefully it should have a nice balance of power and handling yet still look pretty much original.

sounds like a great car you have there, i've always liked golfs just as much as novas, simply because of the tuning ability and the old skool styling

The plans for the Golf sound realy good MC!! I realy like the look of them and keeping it standard looking is deffo the best way to go about building one.
