when you say 'low' do you mean it in a good or bad sense?

i.e. a low 1/4 mile time could be 11 seconds which is good.

i think standard valvers get around the 15 second mark, give or take a few tenths depending on driver and traction.

I reckon there might be a 1.6 8V going close to 14.0 seconds this year, I know a few have been improved including Dan's so it does question the necessity of the XE?

Ben

Well MC's comment is going to start a fight but i do agree that Dans old car was quicker 0-100 than the red 2.0l i was driving.

Power caps are VERY restrictive bin it!

Snowface
19-01-05, 04:56 PM
and jim's 1.6? more power but also more weight i imagine. could be close.

did dan have his Quaife LSD when he last ran?

benji
19-01-05, 05:37 PM
dan didn't have his diff fitted, jim's isn't that heavy

MC
19-01-05, 05:44 PM
Since Dan did his 14.5, he has built a new MUCH lighter and stiifer shell and has now fitted a Gripper diff. The diff by all accounts is very good.

Jim's car is lighter than before.

dan's 14.5 came after the shell. he did it at pod the same day trax was at silverstone. the diff's gone in since.

MC, you got a new pc or somthing? more post's this last few weeks than i've ever seen you since i've been on here, lol

Got on-line at a home a couple of months ago and since finishing Jim's engine and tinkering with a few cars again I've got my spirit back! I don't get to go out anymore now that I have a demanding baby, so using the internet keeps me in touch with the real world!
