went to work as usual today, parked car and payed and displayed and went on my way. ticket ran out at 3.37pm. got back to my car at 3.48 to find it had been bloody clamped!! :evil: :evil:
rang the number and they wanted ?70 to remove the f****n thing!! dont think so!!! rang my mate, he brang to 19mm spanners and a jack!!
Wheel off, removed bottom balljoint from bottom arm, pulled chain from shocker and reversed car off! Just at that point wheel clamp man turns up and starts kicking off sayin that i cant do that :lol: :lol:
mate squares up to him and tells him that unless he f***s off his van will end up on its side :lol: :lol:
needless to say he gave in and i saved myself ?70 :D :D

you didn't cut his clamp so all is fine
apparently its not ilegal unless you damage the clamp
and then you have to hand it in at a police station lol :D
or so i seen on one of them itv programs lol
you should have called angle grinder man he would of cut the clamp up and then give it back to the clamper :lol:

i would have put an angle grinder to it just to piss them off. I nearly got caugh a while back but the women must have standing next to my car for ages, she couldnt work out what car it was so she couldnt give me a ticket. lol I quickly moved on before she changed her mind

how did u get the wheel off? wouldnt the clamp stop access to the wheel bolts

your lucky mate, tampering with a clamp is like a ?2000 fine and can be jail!! doesnt matter whether yuo damage it or not....

he didn't touch the clamp..... there is no law that says you can't dismantle your car

it was one of those plate and chain clamps!! it was well loose. think it was a private clamping company called magpie security. his van was smashed to bits, so it looked like he had upset a few people in the past :lol:

did you actually have to take wheel off? you say you just undid the bottom joint and get the chain off?

yeah, wheel had to come off first. better access to the bottom ball joint bolts and nuts. would probably been able to do it without removing the wheel tho 8)
