how'd they go about turbo'in it then?
lol lotus carlton engine style it wud be crazy
wud a 2.0 4 x 4 engine work better than a normal 2.0 fitted into a nova

1.4 SRi turbo's have been done quite a lot, not sure on the normal SR though

i wouldnt bother turboing a carb IF you want it done properly and reliably you'd be better getting SRi head and injection system and getting some custom management for it

you couldn't turbo charge a carb engine, the pressure would blow all of the fuel out of the fuel bowl, unless you used a R5 GTT carb, but then thats a lot of piontless modification.

but sri turbo's have been done many times before

not to mention the MG metro turbo and the numerous others. A book i have says that you can actually turbocharge a motor using the Weber DCOE with a different seal kit in them. I think that there was (as Stu said) a lotus that used this system, alfa romeos etc

i have also enquired about this, and the only feasable option would be to use a R5GTT head, but weber do make DCOE "turbo" carbs, i saw em on the site yesterday!

courtenay sport used to turbo SR's (3/4yrs ago?) but they said to me they were VERY unreliable etc

phil sutton is bulding a V8 Nova (better than a 3.0 carlton engine).

and there a plenty of italian sports car's that use Turbo's on Dellorto and Weber twin 40's.
