are there many differences between 1.4 16v and 1.6 16v bottom ends, apart from the obvious bore sizes, ive heard that they are almost identical, any ideas as i fancy outting a 1.6 16v bottom end on the 1.4

ive heard that the heads are the same, but it would really need someone to check the volume of the combustion chamber to make sure it doesnt raise the compression too much

that could be a good thing as they are prone to losong compression

no they actually arent

c/x16xe head is 90486227
x14xe is 90486979

the valves are the same tho - so there must be differences in the casting of the combustion chambers or similar
