anyone knows that but if the nova is tunned up and the xr2i is standard its still more powerful

Assuming (as that forum is asking me to login to view the post and I can't be arsed to register lol) thats an engine conversion using a 2.0 16v Zetec from a focus. The ford engine has 130bhp and 128lbft of torque.

Now compare that to the 150bhp and 145lbft of torque from a redtop. Even the 8v (SEH) has 130bhp and 135lbft of torque.

But thats just numbers - at the end of the day its down to the driver.

the ford could be totally stripped and weigh much much less than the nova in question, the nova in question could have about 30kg of ice in the boot.

i presume you are refering to the video of a fiesta chasing scott round donington? he blew it up and is now fitting a 2.0 16v in the fiesta. in the vid he keeps up for a bit but eventually scott get's away.

the nova would kill it simple as, there a big difference in power in the two engines with the ford being down more than 20bhp.

juat watched all the vids. the xr2i is quick is but all the cars that it beats are loads quicker than it. its just the driver of the ford is good. the nova driver in the xe powered gsi should stick to a 1.0 as he / she cant drive the car properly.
