Just nipped out to the scrapyard, and on the road towards the scrapyard, there is a road/corner that allways floods badly, whenever it rains enough.

old rich man in his BMW had stalled it in the middle, and thankfully he'd been pushed out by some local people.

Old Man - "your not going to think about driving through the flood in THAT!?!?!"
Nick - "yes, why not ?... in a flood, it's how you drive not what car you have (within reason)"
Old Man - "Your car is touching the ground already. your Vauxhall isn't as good as my masterpeice of german engineering, you'l never make it, i'l put ?10 on it son"

in short, he then bet me a tenner, i drove through easily (although water was going over the bonnet - good job the K&N came off today) and he actually gave me a tenner ! he then tried to say my car must have it's engine in it's boot !?  he was a very jolly man tho...

so the moral of the story, go abuse/extort some grandads

just goes to show...

it was a diesel as well, and isn't it pretty bad if you flood a diesel with water !?

felt sorry for him, still, the stupid to55er shouldn't have messed with vauxhalls :-)

yer was about to say u were very fuckin lucky u didnt damage anything

if you'd pulled even 1/4 of a litre of water into the carb youd probably bent/snaped conrods

Nick

The only reason why the water was lapping over the bonnet was due to my gsi front and laguna splitter, acting as a scoop, just chucking the water up onto the bonnet

everything is fine, i wouldn't have done it if it were That deep - I doubt water would have come in if i opened my doors.

just a 1.2 Carb

No i wasn't wearing wellies, as people had pushed the mans car out, so he was safely stood at the side of the road (his BMW wouldn't start - PMSL)

i used to be a bmw owner lol, When driving it i had uncontrolable urges to overtake people when there was no need or under take people on motorways. But yes bwm owners are good at making twats out of themselves, i know ive been there.

what did you spend the tenner on m8

i went to the scrappy (on my way there in the process) and got a new ash tray, a working mk2 hazard light switch and a tailgate with a spoiler

the owner of the yard doesn't have a clue about money.

moral of story round up old people in times of flooding and charge excessive amounts of money for lifts
