Now i will take this opportunity to apologise as i would guess this has been asked loads of times so i'm sorry but.....

I'm jst about to buy a 1989 1300 SR and its puffing blue smoke on start up and after being revved now, i guess thats the valve stem oil seals knackered so i'm gonna be takin the head off to do them so what can i get done or do that will increase the power of the lonesome 1300, i'm not massively worried about cost but i don't want to do an engine conversion or go down the twin carbs route.
any suggestions???

thanx

Dave

buy a Blydenstein head, and fit a big cam then get it set up properly.

Apart from cleaning up & skimming the head & reseating the valves, there is little for the diy modifier to do.

as mowgli said...and get a Weber 32/34 carb if you dont want twin carbs as its much improved over the pierberg effort thats on there.

also a janspeed/ashley system maybe? cheap enough.
