out of interest (and im not gonna do one of those bloody polls) who thinks that for an MOT - the boot must be able to be opend ATAL, because i wanna fill in the boot but i dont really give one about getting into it agen, if needs be i could get in through the back seats and it would save me money on more ICE

just wunderin guys

another one iv got corbeau bucket seats and corbeau sub frames, would the mot fella fail me cos they rattle abit?

The boot doesnt have to be opened for an MOT although if it has a lock it must work.

So remove the lock and weld the boot shut.

Can't find any specific mention of the tailgate in the MOT guide, so as Mat says you could just weld it up. I think Ben who had the gold 5dr nova had his rear doors dehandled and welded shut, similar kinda thing.

As for the seats, a rattle could signify the seat or subframe is insecure so best to check its all bolted down properly - the MOT tester could fail your car if he considers the seats to be insecurely mounted.

Just to cover my ass.

The info came from my brother who's training with Royal Mail as a Mechanic.

if it looks operable (ie; it has a lock & button) then its tested. smooth it an weld it an it wont operate as a tailgate so it wont fail.
