Hiya everyone, just to say I am really enjoying looking round this site, its great to see so many subtle Nova's :D. Ok on to my question, in a couple of weeks I am being donated a 1988 Nova 1.2 3-Door for free, being a 1988 model it'll have the thin bumpers im guessing as its completely standard (haven't seen it yet) so is it posible to fit the fatter plastic bumpers and the grill from an SR without too much work? Also how much would these set me back?

?20 approx for a Mk1 SR bumper.

the only difference between that and the GTE is GTE ones were colour coded etc

take old bumper off (read haynes) new bumper fits straight on easy job :)

Yep, Mk1 grille is two screws on top, if I remember rightly.

Or, if you want real old skool.... get one of the early SR bumpers, the all-in-one bumper & grille ones

There was a guy round here had one on a mint B reg black SR... then he ditched it for the later two piece style bumper and grille. Asked what he did with it, and he said he chucked it away :o

Yep, my Cassie has got one of the old skool 1 piece bumpers, C Reg, 1986!

Looked a bit odd until i ripped the HUGE badge of the griffin of the front and added front clear indicators!

Was thinking of getting rid of it and putting a GTE with a big mouth on!?

I'll have to take a piccy of it!
